BECEP 2026 | Štrbské Pleso, Slovensko

From 9 - 11 September 2026, together with our partner Navtech Radar Ltd., we took part in the international BECEP 2026 conference, focused on road safety through the use of intelligent transport systems and modern technologies.
The program also featured the expert presentation “Using the Navtech 360° Radar System to Enhance Road Safety”, presented by Martin Ostrihoň from emst s.r.o. and Nicole Ediker from Navtech Radar Ltd.
The presentation focused on the use of 360° radar technology for Automatic Incident Detection (AID). Some of the most dangerous situations on roads include stopped vehicles, sudden traffic queues, objects on the road, wrong-way drivers and pedestrians. In such situations, the seconds between the occurrence of an incident and the response of the traffic management system can be critical.
One of the key topics of the presentation was the limitations of traditional camera systems in poor visibility conditions. The Navtech ClearWay 360° radar can monitor traffic independently of lighting conditions and operate reliably in fog, heavy rain, snow, dust or smoke. The radar continuously monitors the entire detection zone and can determine the precise location of a detected object or incident.
An important part of the solution is its integration into existing traffic management systems. Information from the radar can be used to automatically direct a PTZ camera towards the incident, generate an alarm and activate a scenario in SCADA/ATMS, or inform drivers via VMS systems. The aim is to minimize the time between the occurrence of an incident, its assessment and a clear warning being provided to drivers.
We were delighted to have the opportunity at BECEP to present a technology that can contribute to the faster detection of dangerous situations and improved road safety.
The conference was also an opportunity to further develop professional relationships and partnerships. Together with Deltech, we made further progress in our developing cooperation and opened up additional opportunities for joint involvement in future projects.
